As a full-time school-based RN, you'll be more than a caregiver--you'll be a health advocate, educator, and support system for students. From managing chronic conditions to promoting wellness, your expertise will help students stay healthy, thrive, and reach their full potential.
What We're Looking For:
- Hold a Registered Nurse License in IL
- First Aid/CPR Certification
- We will need a RN who can support the following for a 20 year old male in our Transition Learning Program in Bensenville. Hours are approximately 7:30 - 3:30.
- Ride bus with student from Alden (Bloomingdale) to TLC (Bensenville) and back to Alden
- Trach care
- suction as needed
- replace as needed - student attempts to pull this out
o student is not oxygen dependent during the day and has a speaking valve - G-tube care
o feedings should not be scheduled during school hours (currently am/pm only) - ability to replace as needed - student attempts to pull this out
- Toileting - diapers, will require use of hoyer/changing table every 2 hours
- Transfer from wheelchair to alternate seating as appropriate for positioning
- Push heavy automatic wheelchair in manual mode/able to adjust chair from automatic to manual as needed
- Follow Behavior Intervention Plan as trained/with fidelity (misuse of wheelchair, self-injury, verbal aggression, noncompliance)
