This role is specifically focused on providing mental health services to Special students who present with significant social-emotional and behavioral needs. The ideal candidate will be a licensed professional (LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC) who has a passion for supporting the social, emotional, and behavioral well-being of students, enabling them to achieve academic and personal success. This position plays a critical role in our commitment to providing a comprehensive support system for all students.The clinician will work collaboratively with school site teams, families, and community partners to deliver evidence-based mental health services to students with significant needs. This role requires a strong understanding of child and adolescent development, trauma-informed care, and the implementation of intensive, data-driven interventions. Key Responsibilities:Provide In-Home Counseling: Deliver direct, evidence-based therapeutic interventions to a caseload of Special Education students. This includes, but is not limited to, utilizing modalities such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and other appropriate interventions.Develop and Implement Individualized Support Plans: In collaboration with the student, family, and school-based team (including teachers, administrators, and school psychologists), create and implement individualized support plans that outline specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals. Crisis Intervention and Risk Assessment: Provide immediate crisis intervention and support for students experiencing acute distress. Conduct thorough risk assessments for self-harm and harm to others, and coordinate with appropriate school personnel and external agencies as necessary. Family Engagement and Support: Engage families in the therapeutic process through regular communication, family therapy sessions, and parent education/coaching to support the student's well-being across home and school environments. Collaboration and Consultation: Serve as a key member of the Student Services Team; provide consultation and guidance to school staff.Case Management and Community Linkages: Connect students and their families with appropriate community-based mental health services, resources, and supports to ensure a continuum of care. Data Collection and Progress Monitoring: Maintain accurate and confidential student records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
