The Stepping Stones Group is seeking an experienced Special Education Teacher for a public-school position in Glendale, AZ! The Special Education Teacher will be part of our on-site Intensive Behavioral Students Services team and will serve to lead, inspire, and support adolescent students in an Elementary self-contained classroom. This position requires a valid Standard Professional Teaching Certificate in either Mild/Moderate Disabilities or Moderate/severe Disabilities, K-12 or a valid Alternative Teaching Certificate.
Hourly Pay Range: $45-$50/hour ($68,000 - $75,600 annually) PLUS a $1,000 sign-on bonus
What We're Looking For
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field from an accredited institution
Valid Standard Professional Teaching Certificate in either Mild/Moderate Disabilities or Moderate/severe Disabilities, K-12 or a valid Alternative Teaching Certificate - must be in good standing with the Arizona Department of Education (ADE)
Definitely a plus if you have experience working with children in a school setting, with a strong emphasis on supporting those with special needs
What You'll Do
Support students with diverse learning and behavioral needs, adapting general education lessons to meet the individual needs of students
Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of students with identified special needs, ensuring their academic and developmental success
Monitor student progress, making data-driven adjustments of teaching methods and materials needed to keep students on a successful learning path
Manage behaviors by implementing effective behavior support plans that foster positive student outcomes
Collaborate with general education teachers, RBTs, therapists, support staff, and families to build an inclusive and supportive learning environment
Participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development initiatives to promote academic, social, and emotional growth
