The Stepping Stones Group is seeking Special Education Teachers to join our team in Byron, IL!
Job Details:
- Full-Time: 35 hours per week
- Age Group: Elementary (Life Skills Classroom)
- Caseload: 7-10 students (Students have severe cognitive disabilities: full scale IQ of 55 and under)
- Utilize specialized teaching strategies and tools to enhance learning and engagement for students with diverse learning needs.
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, therapists, families, and other professionals to promote student success and integration into broader educational settings.
- Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instructional methods accordingly.
- Foster a nurturing classroom atmosphere that promotes respect, empathy, and self-confidence among students.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Special Education from an accredited institution
- Valid state license or certification for Special Education Teaching
- Professional Educator License (PEL)
- Demonstrated experience working with children and adolescents in a school setting, with a strong emphasis on supporting those with special needs.
