Licensed Practice Nurse (LPN) - School

Job Description

The Stepping Stones Group is seeking Licensed Practice Nurses (LPNs) for a contracted, school-based placement in Landover, MD for the 26/27 school year! This is a full-time private duty/1:1 role supporting a local K-12 district with nursing services. We are seeking candidates who have strong trach and vent skills and have experience working in a school-based setting as a private duty nurse.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Active LPN License in MD
  • Current BLS CPR/AED certification
  • Must have School-based experience 
  • Must have Private Duty nursing experience with pediatric patients
  • Demonstrated competency in the specific skills required for the assigned student including: Diabetic monitoring, Asthmatic, Diabetics, Seizure monitoring, Medication administration, Pediatrics, Trach, Vent, G-tubes experience 
  • Ability to safely implement physician orders and care plans within LPN scope of practice 


 What You'll Do 

 

  • Maintain continuous observation of assigned student throughout the school day
  • Support chronic condition management and assist with medical procedures as outlined in care plans  
  • Provide first aid and medication administration 
  • Document care and communicate with school teams 
  • Accompany student during transportation and community-based activities when assigned
  • Report significant status changes to supervising RN and family
