The Stepping Stones Group is seeking a dedicated and passionate English as a Second Language (ESL) Teacher to join our part-time school-based team in Philadelphia, PA. This rewarding opportunity allows you to support multilingual learners by developing their English language proficiency while helping them achieve academic success across all content areas.
As an ESL Teacher, you will work collaboratively with students, families, classroom teachers, and school staff to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment that promotes language development, academic achievement, and cultural understanding.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, ESL, TESOL, Linguistics, or a related field
- Valid Pennsylvania teaching certification with ESL Program Specialist certification or eligibility
- Knowledge of second language acquisition and effective instructional strategies for English Learners (ELs)
- Experience working with multilingual learners in a school setting preferred
- Strong communication, classroom management, and collaboration skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and culturally responsive learning environment
Key Responsibilities
- Provide English language instruction to students identified as English Learners (ELs)
- Develop and implement lessons that support listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills
- Assess student language proficiency and monitor academic progress
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to support language development across the curriculum
- Develop instructional strategies and accommodations to help students access grade-level content
- Participate in student support meetings and contribute to educational planning
- Maintain accurate records, language proficiency data, and required documentation
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and educational goals
- Support cultural awareness and create an inclusive learning environment for diverse student populations
