The Stepping Stones Group is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to join our full-time school-based team in Sugar Land, TX. This rewarding opportunity allows you to support students' mental health, emotional well-being, and academic success while helping create a positive and supportive educational environment.
As an LPC, you will work closely with students, families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams to provide counseling services, behavioral support, crisis intervention, and mental health resources that empower students to overcome challenges and reach their full potential.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field
- Active Texas Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) license from TX Behavioral Health Executive Council
- Experience working with children, adolescents, and families preferred
- School-based, pediatric, or behavioral health experience preferred
- Knowledge of crisis intervention, social-emotional learning, and behavioral support strategies
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counseling services to support students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs
- Conduct assessments and assist in developing intervention and support plans
- Provide crisis intervention and support for students experiencing behavioral or emotional challenges
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and support staff to promote student success
- Implement evidence-based counseling techniques and behavioral interventions
- Participate in student support meetings, MTSS, 504 meetings, and IEP meetings as appropriate
- Support social-emotional learning (SEL) initiatives and positive school climate programs
- Connect students and families with school and community-based mental health resources
- Maintain accurate documentation, case notes, progress reports, and compliance records
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
