Job Description

The Stepping Stones Group
Make a Difference Every Day

Empowering Students, Enriching Futures!

RBT Supervisor (BCBA) | School-Based | Part-Time | Stipend-Based | In-Person RBT Supervision

About the Opportunity

Join The Stepping Stones Group as an RBT Supervisor and provide the BACB-required supervision that keeps school-based Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) compliant and supported. This is more than a job. It's a chance to mentor RBTs in the classroom and ensure high-quality, compliant ABA services for students, with a caseload that starts small and grows at the pace you choose.

This role is strictly for RBT supervision. You'll meet with RBTs in person, complete competency assessments, and document supervision hours. It does not include programmatic supervision, IEP involvement, or a clinical caseload of students.

  • Compensation: $250 per RBT supervised per month (typical rate), with an hourly arrangement considered for caseloads of about 20 or more RBTs
  • Caseload: Starts small and grows gradually to about 5-20 RBTs, up to your stated maximum, with an estimated 30-40 RBTs across the team
  • Schedule: Part-time and flexible, built around your availability and the RBTs' classroom hours (RBTs typically work about 6 hours a day)
  • Setting: In-person, school-based, during the school day
  • Duration: Through the end of the 2026-2027 school year
  • Employment type: W-2
  • Location: Shared with candidates during the application process

What You'll Do

  • Provide in-person supervision to each assigned RBT at least weekly while they apply ABA strategies with their student
  • Meet regularly with RBTs to make sure the required minimum 5% monthly supervision is met
  • Complete RBT competency assessments in line with BACB requirements
  • Lead at least one small-group meeting per month, outside classroom time and without students present, to review ABA strategies, the RBT task list, professional and ethical guidelines, and the RBT handbook
  • Monitor and document supervision hours to support ongoing BACB compliance
  • Keep in regular contact with SSG clinical and program leadership about RBT progress and compliance concerns
  • Optional: offer virtual 1:1 or group supervision outside school hours to supplement in-person sessions

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification
  • Completion of the 8-hour supervision course
  • State behavior analyst licensure, where required
  • Ability to be on site in person during the school day
  • Reliable transportation for travel between school sites
  • Strong communication, documentation, and follow-through
  • Authorization to work in the United States

You'll Thrive in This Role If You Are:

  • Organized and reliable with schedules, documentation, and deadlines
  • A supportive, approachable mentor to RBTs
  • Comfortable giving clear, constructive feedback
  • Able to work independently and communicate often with a program team

Preferred Qualifications

  • School-based experience
  • Experience supervising RBTs
  • Familiarity with BACB supervision and competency assessment requirements
  • Experience coaching school staff

How Success Is Measured

  • RBTs stay compliant with BACB certification requirements
  • Competency assessments are completed on schedule
  • In-person supervision hours are consistent and well documented
  • Strong working relationships with RBTs and the SSG program team

Why BCBAs Choose SSG

  • In-person, school-based supervision schedule built around your availability and the RBTs' classroom hours
  • Stipend-based pay per RBT supervised, with hourly options for larger caseloads
  • Responsive, supportive clinical leadership, never siloed work
  • A caseload that grows gradually, from a small start up to your stated maximum
  • A clear, meaningful role in keeping students' ABA services compliant and high quality
  • Mentorship and support from SSG's Program Manager and clinical leadership
  • Access to SSG's exclusive clinical content and resources
