The Stepping Stones Group is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our school-based team in Joliet, IL. This full-time opportunity is ideal for professionals who are passionate about helping students improve mobility, independence, and participation in the educational setting while working under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
As a valued member of our multidisciplinary team, you will support students with diverse physical needs and play an important role in helping them achieve their educational and developmental goals.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Active Illinois Physical Therapist Assistant license
- IL Clearances
- Previous experience working with children or adolescents preferred
- School-based experience preferred but not required
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
- Ability to work under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist
Key Responsibilities
- Implement treatment plans developed by the supervising Physical Therapist
- Provide direct physical therapy services to students in individual and group settings
- Assist students in developing mobility, strength, balance, coordination, and functional skills
- Document student progress and treatment activities accurately and timely
- Collaborate with Physical Therapists, teachers, families, and school staff
- Support the use of adaptive equipment and mobility devices
- Maintain compliance with school, district, and state requirements
