What You'll Do 

As a School-Based Behavior Specialist (ABAI)you'll be embedded within educational teams to apply ABA principles, guide school staff, and directly impact student success through modeling, coaching, and data-informed strategies. Here's how you'll make a difference: 

  • Model and implement behavior-analytic strategies to promote student success across academic and behavioral goals 
  • Support school personnel in the implementation of ABA-based programming and interventions 
  • Provide ongoing feedback, model techniques, and assist with competency assessments 
  • Collect and interpret behavioral data to inform instructional strategies and interventions 
  • Collaborate with special education staff, behavior teams, and administrators to ensure consistency and generalization of support 
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to functional behavior assessments and behavior intervention planning 
  • Assist with curriculum development through the lens of behavior analysis 
  • Support students during moments of behavioral escalation using proactive and responsive strategies 
  • Receive supervision, participate in team problem-solving, and develop the skills needed for independent clinical practice

Who You Are 

  • Bachelor's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or related field (preferred) 
  • Minimum of 3 years working with children or adolescents in educational or ABA settings 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to coach, collaborate, and adapt in dynamic environments 
  • Advanced RBT, BCaBA, or actively working toward BCBA certification (preferred but not required) 
  • Committed to ethical, student-centered care and continuous professional development 

Schedule & Work Environment 

  • Full-Time
  • School-based caseload in the Peterborough Region

  • Competitive Salary: $45,000-$52,000 annually based on experience
