Job Description

The Stepping Stones Group is seeking a caring and dedicated Certified School Nurse (CSN) to join our full-time school-based team in Trenton, NJ. This rewarding opportunity allows you to play a vital role in supporting student health, wellness, and academic success by providing quality nursing services within the educational setting.

As a Certified School Nurse, you will collaborate with students, families, educators, administrators, and healthcare providers to promote a safe and healthy school environment. You will help ensure students receive the medical support they need to fully participate in their educational experience.

Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New Jersey
  • New Jersey Certified School Nurse (CSN) certification required
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Previous school-based, pediatric, public health, or community health experience preferred
  • Knowledge of student health services, medication administration, and healthcare regulations
  • Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing services to students and respond to medical needs during the school day
  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders, district policies, and state regulations
  • Manage and monitor student health plans, including those related to chronic medical conditions
  • Conduct health screenings, assessments, and follow-up activities as required
  • Maintain accurate health records and ensure compliance with state and federal requirements
  • Collaborate with families, healthcare providers, teachers, and administrators regarding student health concerns
  • Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid as needed
  • Support IEP and Section 504 teams by providing health-related information and recommendations
  • Promote health education, wellness initiatives, and disease prevention practices within the school community
  • Ensure a safe and healthy learning environment for all students
