Job Description

The Stepping Stones Group is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) for a contracted, school-based placement in San Jose, CA for the 2026-2027 school year! This is a full-time building support role providing a local K-12 district with nursing services.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Active LVN license in California
  • Current BLS CPR/AED certification
  • Pediatric and private duty nursing experience preferred
  • Long‑term care, outpatient, or home health
  • EMR proficiency (Epic, Cerner, or similar)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • 1+ year LVN experience in acute care

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Patient care delivery — Provide basic nursing care including vital signs, wound care, hygiene assistance, and comfort measures
  • Medication administration — Administer medications per California LVN scope of practice and facility protocols
  • Clinical documentation — Maintain accurate, timely electronic health records
  • Treatment support — Assist with procedures, diagnostic tests, and physician ordered interventions
  • Care coordination — Communicate patient status changes to supervising RNs and providers
  • Infection control — Follow state and facility infection prevention standards
  • Patient education — Reinforce care instructions and support patient understanding of treatment plans.\
  • Ability to meet physical demands (lifting 25–50 lbs, standing for extended periods)
