Compliance Licensing Specialist

Pay Grade: $23.00-$28.00

The Compliance Licensing Specialist plays an instrumental role at The Stepping Stones Group (SSG or Company) in ensuring employees obtain and maintain required professional credentials in a timely, accurate, and compliant manner. This role is highly detail-oriented and customer service-driven, with a primary focus on guiding staff through licensure and credentialing processes such as SLPA licensure, CFY licensure, and State Educator Credentials.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Primary point of contact for employees seeking guidance on licensure and credentialing requirements, for staff across all states
• Serve as the primary escalation point for all individuals authorized to start with a license/certification pending, providing oversight, monitoring, and support until full compliance is achieved.
• Walk employees step-by-step through application processes, ensuring understanding of requirements, timelines, and documentation needed for successful submission.
• Maintain a high level of attention to detail while processing credentialing documents in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Monitor credential applications from initial submission through active status, proactively following up on missing items or delays.
• Verify approved credentials and accurately record documentation in the HRIS system to support ongoing compliance management.
• Deliver high-quality customer service and support to employees and stakeholders via phone, email, and chat, responding promptly and professionally.
• Identify, document, and address compliance concerns, escalating complex or sensitive issues to management with appropriate context and recommendations.

• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with discretion and professionalism.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams, including Onboarding, Compliance, Production, to ensure alignment on credentialing standards and timelines.
• Contribute to process improvement efforts by identifying trends, timelines, or opportunities to streamline credentialing workflows
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
• Minimum of 3 years of customer service experience, education, and/or training required.
• At least 2 years of experience in credentialing, licensing coordination, or a related compliance-focused role preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex licensing requirements clearly and efficiently.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Experience with HRIS software preferred
• Experience using web-based services and databases to review, validate, and monitor preferred credentials.
• Ability to demonstrate a clear understanding of basic office procedures and related computer programs (Microsoft 365, etc...)
• Prior experience working in a fast paced, high volume environment preferred
• Confidence and professionalism in working with and maintaining effective working relationships
• Helpful, proactive and enthusiastic team player, willing to assist others when necessary
• Ability to maintain a strong work ethic; ability to meet deadlines in a demanding and detail-oriented environment with confidential information
• Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
