You'll conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations, determine eligibility, and guide IEP teams toward decisions that are not just compliant - but meaningful. You'll partner closely with SPED teachers, BCBAs, families, and multidisciplinary teams across a range of needs - from students on the autism spectrum to students with affective/emotional needs and those served through CoAlt/SSN programs.Caseloads span Aurora's school-based programs at both the elementary and secondary level. We'll work with you to build an assignment that matches your experience and strengths. What You'll DoASSESSMENT & EVALUATIONConduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations to assess cognitive, academic, social-emotional, and behavioral functioningDetermine eligibility for special education and related services in accordance with IDEA and Colorado Department of Education (CDE) guidelinesWrite clear, legally defensible evaluation reports within required timelinesIEP & ELIGIBILITYParticipate as a member of IEP and multidisciplinary teams, including annual reviews and triennial evaluationsFacilitate eligibility determinations in partnership with the multidisciplinary teamDevelop and monitor progress toward academic, behavioral, communication, and functional goalsDIRECT STUDENT SUPPORTDeliver individual and group counseling services aligned with IEP goalsSupport crisis intervention and threat/risk assessment as neededPromote positive mental health and safe, supportive learning environmentsCONSULTATION & TEAM SUPPORTPartner with BCBAs on the development, implementation, and monitoring of FBAs and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)Provide consultation to teachers, paraprofessionals, and school staff on behavior intervention strategies and accommodationsParticipate in MTSS/RTI processes for students approaching or holding special education eligibilityActively participate in school-based MTSS, problem-solving, and grade-level teamsDOCUMENTATION & COMPLIANCEMaintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with district, state, and federal requirementsComplete required documentation — evaluation reports, progress notes, prior written notices — accurately and on timeEnsure all evaluations and services meet CDE Special Services Provider (SSP) licensure standards What We're Looking ForUNIVERSAL REQUIREMENTSSpecialist-level degree (Ed.S.) or Doctorate in School Psychology from an accredited programActive Colorado CDE Special Services Provider (SSP) license — or eligibility to obtainPassing score on the Praxis School Psychologist exam (5402/5403)IEP evaluation and eligibility experience in a Colorado school district setting strongly preferredStrong written and verbal communication with families, educators, and multidisciplinary team membersMust pass district fingerprinting and background check Compensation & BenefitsSalary: $70,000 – $95,000 annually, based on experience, education level, and licensureRANGE QUALIFIERS$70,000–$78,000: Entry-level, 0–3 years of experience, Ed.S. degree with active or provisional SSP license$78,000–$88,000: Mid-career, 4–8 years of school-based experience$88,000–$95,000: Senior-level, 8+ years of experience, Doctorate, and/or bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency Sign-on bonus for candidates with active Colorado SSP licensureRelocation stipend for candidates joining from 75+ miles awayComprehensive health, dental, and vision coveragePaid school-year schedule following the APS academic calendarOngoing professional development: assessment, crisis intervention, bilingual assessment, and moreCareer pathways into lead psychologist, clinical coordinator, and program specialist rolesAbout CASCommunity Autism Services is committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate care to children and families while creating meaningful, sustainable careers for our team members.
