Mental Health Associate - School-Based Counseling PositionJob Type: Part-TimePay Range: $27.50-$32.50/hour Position Overview: ERA Ed, a Division of The Stepping Stones Group, is seeking a mission-driven and compassionate Mental Health Associate (MHA) to provide individualized, field-based mental health services to children, adolescents and families in the Culver City area.This is an excellent opportunity for pre-licensed clinicians seeking hands-on experience, meaningful client relationships, and support toward BBS licensure through paid supervision and structured training. The ideal candidate is an Associate-level clinician (AMFT, ACSW, or APCC) who is passionate about supporting youth and families in school, home, and community settings. This position plays a vital role in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team dedicated to building stability and resilience in underserved communities. Mental Health Associates will participate in a yearlong clinical training program, while working with diverse caseloads under the supervision of a licensed clinician. Services are delivered in-person and via telehealth, depending on client needs. Key Responsibilities: Deliver Individualized Counseling Services: Provide strengths-based, culturally responsive therapeutic interventions to youth and families in school, home, and community settings. Services may include individual therapy, family counseling, and parent support, tailored to each family's needs and treatment goals. Facilitate Family Engagement and Parenting Support: Build rapport and foster trust with caregivers to increase engagement in the therapeutic process. Deliver psychoeducation, coaching, and behavior support strategies to parents and caregivers in a non-judgmental and collaborative manner. Provide Crisis Intervention and Risk Assessments: Respond promptly to urgent client needs, including safety planning and de-escalation. Conduct risk assessments related to suicidality, self-injury, and harm to others, and follow mandated reporting procedures as needed. Participate in IEP/504 Planning and School Collaboration: Attend and contribute to IEP meetings as appropriate. Maintain active communication with school teams, including special education staff, to support students with emotional or behavioral challenges. Maintain Clinical Documentation: Complete all required documentation in a timely, accurate, and professional manner. This includes assessments, treatment plans, session progress notes, and collateral contact notes in accordance with agency standards and regulatory guidelines. Coordinate Care and Foster Community Linkages: Work closely with Wraparound team members, school personnel, and external service providers to ensure a coordinated, comprehensive approach to care. Provide families with referrals to appropriate community resources as needed. Participate in Supervision and Ongoing Training: Attend weekly group and individual supervision to support licensure and clinical growth. Participate in a yearlong training program that includes modules on DSM-5-TR, legal/ethical practices, crisis intervention, and evidence-based strategies.
