Summary

The National Clinical Manager provides clinical leadership, mentorship, and day-to-day operational support to mental health clinicians across one or more assigned school districts. Serving as the primary clinical resource and point of contact for assigned providers, the National Clinical Manager promotes consistent, high-quality service delivery; supports clinicians in assessment, intervention, documentation, reporting, and IEP-related responsibilities; and ensures that service providers understand and adhere to district policies and procedures. As an active member of the Triad alongside the Account Manager and Recruiter, the Clinical Manager partners with operational and business development colleagues to support staffing, district relationships, and program growth, while maintaining a continued focus on clinical quality and provider success. Specific responsibilities may vary slightly depending on the state, region, and districts served.

Essential Duties

  • Provide clinical support, mentoring, consultation, guidance, and resources to clinicians within one or more assigned districts.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clinicians regarding questions related to assessment, intervention, documentation, reports, IEPs, and SSG processes.
  • Serve as a clinical resource to assigned providers, maintaining a continued focus on the delivery of high-quality services.
  • Ensure that service providers understand and carry out district policies and procedures across all assigned districts.
  • Stay informed of district policy, procedure, and operational changes that affect SSG employees, and communicate updates to new hires and existing team members as needed.
  • Serve as a liaison between districts and assigned clinicians when appropriate, relaying district communications and information to providers delivering services in those districts.
  • Participate as an active member of the Triad (Account Manager, Recruiter, and Clinical Manager).
  • Collaborate with SSG Career Services to support the filling of open positions within assigned and supported districts.
  • Collaborate with the Business Development team and Account Managers to gain knowledge of district policies, procedures, and operations.
  • Conduct clinical interviews (CIs) and clinical conversations (CCs) with prospective clinicians, as needed or requested.
  • Meet with district administrators—independently or in conjunction with the Account Manager, per Triad discussion—to develop and strengthen district relationships, as needed.
  • When appropriate and as directed, contact designated districts to identify therapy or related-services needs that SSG can fill (typically an Account Manager function; in some locations, districts communicate directly with Clinical Managers).
  • When appropriate and as directed, present candidate resumes to clients, depending on client preference.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled team meetings, as needed.
  • Represent SSG at job fairs, conferences, and workshops, as needed.
  • Participate in special projects as assigned.

Accountability and Scope

The National Clinical Manager functions as the primary clinical resource and operational point of contact for assigned mental health clinicians across one or more school districts. This position exercises professional judgment in supporting, mentoring, and guiding providers; promoting quality service delivery; and ensuring adherence to district and SSG policies and procedures across assigned markets.
The National Clinical Manager collaborates closely with Account Managers, Career Services/Recruiting, district administrators, and the Quality Assurance Director, serving as an active member of the Triad to support staffing, district relationships, and clinical quality. The position maintains responsibility for clinical support within assigned districts while escalating significant clinical, personnel, or operational concerns through appropriate leadership channels.

Job Specifications

Performance review of this position will be evaluated on an annual time frame in accordance with SSG's employee guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field.
  • Active clinical licensure (LCSW/LISW, LPC, LMFT, or equivalent), where required by state or district.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a school-based environment.
  • Excellent communicator who is an independent thinker and resourceful problem-solver.
  • Dependable, flexible, organized, loyal, and a strong team player.
  • Working knowledge of school-based service delivery, clinical documentation, IEPs, and related processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and to support and develop clinicians across one or more districts.
